Aisle Language: Translating HQ Speak into Shelf-Safe Hangul

By Yuri Cho

Hero artwork for Aisle Language: Translating HQ Speak into Shelf-Safe Hangul

Retail aisles reward terse verbs and retailer-native verbs. Literal translations from English decks often produce polite—but ambiguous—Hangul that staff paraphrase anyway. We pair localization editors with trade leads to lock shelf verbs before artwork locks dimensions.

We document recurring phrases per retailer tier so distributors reuse consistent wording across provinces. That discipline trims emergency print stops when a phrase suddenly reads informal next to premium fixtures.

The payoff is calmer weekend launches: promoters reuse approved phrases, photo proofs compare apples-to-apples, and leadership sees fewer "what did we mean here?" threads.
